Mr.and Mrs Schochler were also Rusk High School Graduates and owned and operated the Schochler Hardware Store in Rusk for many years. They were a tremendous asset to the economy of the Rusk. They contributed greatly in providing a wholesome community enviornment where young people could grow up safely and with the confidence of becoming successful in life.

Jim Lovelady, President of the Rusk High School Alumni Association, presents Mr. Max Schochler a plaque from the RHSAA in appreciation of his most generous donation. Another plaque, inscribed with Mr. Schochler's name, will be presented to the Principal of Rusk High School, Mr. Ricky Hassell, to be prominently displayed at the School.

The Rusk High School Alumni Association shall take great pleasure in presenting an annual $1000 scholarship, to a Rusk High graduating student, beginning in May 2004, in the Honor of Laura and Harmon Schochler.
